Plane missing Hood Canal (WA) area

Not good. C-182. Four fatalities.

It's been a rough week so far.....

The N# appears visible when I look at the aerial footage, but when I run it through the FAA registry I get a Boeing PT-17 from 1941. I'm either reading the tail # wrong, or am confused about the footage shown.

OK, I was reading the # wrong, When I plugged in the right ID it came up as a 1973 182P. My condolences to friends and family of all who were aboard.

FAA database indicates the pilot had no instrument rating, issued 10/14.

Yep. Not sure what the weather was like there but where I was (about 30 miles due east) it was nasty around the time of the flight. Pouring rain, etc. Can't imagine it was much better. One news article cited a heavy squall in that area around the time of the flight. Sad regardless.
