anyone done an accelerated commercial training that they would recommend? I'm in Illinois but willing to travel somewhere warm.

Accelerated Commercial? A lot of hours required so I'm not sure how it could be accelerated unless you mean a condensed course over a period of time, like 60 days for example.

If you meet all the requirement minus the complex time and have the written done there are companies that offer a 3-5 day course. That's what I'm looking for. Just no rental complex close by.

OK gotcha now. Someone probably knows on here so you'll get an answer. Might want to say where you live or want the training to be done. Good luck!

The actual instruction part is minimal. You can fly on your own and get most of the pre-reqs done in advance and then go to a finish up or accelerated school for the checkride prep.

For the OP, there is a place at Long Beach that does accelerated commercial training. Called Accelerated Flight Training Center. They seem to have good reviews.

Can't speak for commercial but I did my accelerated instrument at GATTS. I would recommend them .

If you want warmer I did my PPL at Tailwhlees in Lakeland FL and they had the accelerated thing down pat. I was just there for PPL but there were just as many students doing their CPL successfully there at the same time.

Anyone have a recommendation for a CSEL "weekend finishing school"? Aero experience done, just need maneuvers and checkride prep. Prefer NE Mid-Atlantic.

When I had TiVo, I did a lot of accelerated commercial.

Thank you. Thank you. I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

He did - Illinois, in the original post.

I looked at the accelerated programs, but ended up going with a flight school that is fairly local - about 45 min away at a different field. Turned out to be cheaper (I think) than most of the flat rate places. When I started I had 0 complex and 0 Piper Arrow time. Took my checkride at 14 hrs complex. Hardest part was transitioning from the Cirrus to the Arrow. Arrow rental was 170/hr and I had about 10 hrs of instruction so got it done under 3k. Crosswinds Aviation in Howell MI. Very well maintained equipment and pretty easy availability.
