Five airplanes for sale with mysterious price tags...

Prefer to have the price posted, rather than have to do a dance with a salesperson,if I'm just tire kicking.

Call for price is a mystery?

Call for price is loosely translated to " I want too much and don't really want to sell the plane, but my wife said I had to. I listed it for actual value plus emotional stipend so if it actually sells, I'll be so shocked and have so much extra I can get twice as much plane as I had before!"

I've bought 2 planes in the past three years. I ignore any ad that won't list a price.

I actually was interested enough to call on a Stinson that was listed as "call." It was a waste of time. I called the "broker" 4 times over the course of two weeks. Never got a call back, never got an email, nothing at all.

Seems strange that the broker did not seem to really want to sale a plane since it was still listed two months later.

I have also found that many planes are not for sale at all. Its more like call or click bait.

Sales tactics.

I'm thinking it's way overpriced so they don't want to scare people off, and figure once you call, you are interested. Maybe not listing the price is a way to get rid of the tire-kickers who have no real interest or money.

A mysterious price tag indicates that there is, in fact, a price tag. These have no price tag. mysterious != null.

I made an offer on my Comanche at 25% under what other Comanches were going for when I saw what would become mine listed with no price. Offer immediately accepted. Sometimes you miss out when you have hard and fast rules.

Yeh, I don't like this post that much this week. Stupid topic. What do you guys wanna see next week?

That sounds good.

But I got so tired of all the BS. I remember one guy would not talk price unless we were standing at the plane. I told him based on his ad and similar planes what I though it was worth and he hung up on me.

You saw my Lance and I bought that bird sight unseen for $15k less than Vref. It was from Bartelt though. Did Jason tell you we had a gear failure on my check out?

Five success stories - planes you've sold that are in happy new owner's hands. Or happy sellers.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure how many I've sold! Haven't been in contact with most of the owners whose planes I feature! I should start reaching out to them and see if these posts actually help them sell.

Can you definitively say that one aircraft that you have advertised has sold as a result of your efforts?

5 TurboProps under $100k with < 1000 hours SOH :)

I cannot. I no longer have active classified ads on my website. It's just a blog now. Couldn't get much traction with the classifieds part, so I just blog and share neat planes with folks cuz I think it's fun.

I could follow up with some of the listings I've promoted though and see if any of them sold. If the listing is still up I'll just contact them and ask I guess.

You are basically spinning your wheels and wasting time if you have no follow up method in place...

I enjoy 'em too. Now get some Breezeys on there before summer is over!

If calberto is doing this only for fun nowadays, I'll take my previous comments back and apologize. I was under the impression that there was some sort of business model with these posts. (Pretty sure calberto posted a while back how he intends to run this as a business and represents planes for a fee?)

I originally planned it to become a business model. I wanted airplanebuyersclub.com to become a classifieds marketplace, like controller or tradeaplane, but I never got traction with that concept.

I decided not to trash the entire website, because I still enjoy posting planes for folks to see.

It would pry help if I actually told people about changes every once in a while LOL :p sorry for the confusion!

It may be an idea at some point to take the buy/sell out, and also to publish the historic "Five airplane" lists. Mostly that someone doesn't feel like a dope when they sheepishly have to ask: "Did you do a five warbirds recently...?"

I think to do that you may have to copy the images locally though - they still link to controller, which would be a problem if they take it down. (Not actually sure if they take them down if a plane is delisted - I assume so).

Yes, but then you ended up with a Comanche.. I kid I kid..

I like that 5 planes idea! Not a fan of the call for price stuff but the 5 featured planes things is kind of a neat hitch.
