Anybody know the recent story for this company? The flight box they offer looks good and easy to assemble. I was considering getting one. However, they do not respond to phone calls or emails, and the order buttons on their website are INOP. Biggest red flags for online commerce.
Wonder what happened.

There is another vendor on these boards that sells a similar box. I have one and living room testing worked okay. Still have yet to get it in the air in my plane but... there's that. There was some issue getting it out when it said it was going to be shipped, but that was a new preorder... I think they've got their supply chain squared away now.

They just packaged up a Stratux

Check out Stratux.me or Stratux.co or Reddit.com/r/Stratux

You can build one yourself very easily. I just built one last week.

Agree - less then 30 mins once you get the parts. Don't understand why people are buying these other solutions, assembly is still required on some of them, why not just cut out the middle man.

I don't blame people for buying completed units. Sometimes it's just a matter of not wanting to put in the effort.

If that's the case and they know what they're paying for, perfectly fine.

I'm an Electrical Engineer and enjoy playing with things like this so it was fun to build.

I think the other vendor is thesquawkshoppe.com

I've seen these units in operation. They seem pretty solid. They're great for the Traffic and weather but... how about the internal AHRS and synthetic vision you get with the Stratus 2S? Worth a few more dollars?

I don't know about the product, but I just went to the website. All buttons worked for me all the way to the time to make payment. At that point I cancelled.

And yes, a simple CONTACT US button would be nice on their website.

You are correct. Website seems not compatible with IPad. Had to go to a desk top to check.
Still reluctant with no communication from vendor. Maybe I make my own as suggested,,,

That was the system I bought and put together because I didn't want to fab a box with a fan.

I believe he was on vacation last week (sent it out to people ahead of time as a notice of slow response) and is probably catching up. He was very prompt with my order and shipment. Product works well

All the parts separately, plus shipping, is about the same as our prepackaged solution + some labor cost. Additionally, you don't end up with a bunch of extra crap you'll never use, and it's not a velcroed together mess that you throw in the back somewhere. Now the FlightBox is an assembly unit, but at least it's just the necessary items and it's more durable than the acrylic stuff. However the ADSBIN is ready to fly out of the box, super durable, and still easy to mod. The most important reason though, when you buy all those parts, you're not supporting the Stratux project, but ours actually helps fund the Stratux project & it's developers. Remember that.

Interesting. I will be sending you an email shortly.

I like your stuff but what you posted is misleading.

I just built a Stratux in a very nice enclosure with a fan using a Rasperry Pi 3 for an all in cost of $142

Rasperry Pi: $36 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01CD5VC92/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1468581630&sr=1-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=raspberry+pi+3&dpPl=1&dpID=51696W3Gz+L&ref=plSrch
Heat sinks: $5 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00HPQGTI4/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Fan: $7 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00295DNKS/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Case: $20 - https://www.reddit.com/r/stratux/co...sprinted_cases_cheap/?st=iqnntkwc&sh=97584f55
DMurray Antennas and Radios: $55 - http://stratux.danmurray.net/product/bundle-high-gain-antennas-sdrs/
Suction cups: $2 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00009UI7L/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
VK172 GPS: $17 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01EIHYALU/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Total including tax and shipping: $142

I already had a microSD card but that's only $10.

It doesn't look like your first picture, it looks like the one Scrabo posted. I don't have any extra parts and who cares if I did at the price I paid.

I'm not trying to be down on your product, for someone that doesn't want to build it themselves, it's a fine deal, but be honest with the pictures and advertising.

Do you cover up side vents with the copper grounding tape as Dmurray has in his picture?

FullSizeRender-8.jpg

Only partially ... only covered 4 slots closest to the antenna mount, on either side.

I should also say I stuck a pair on someone else SkyRadar unit and they were so impressed that they ordered a set of DMurray's as well.
