Gotta love the phone company. Just got this lovely text from them.

"Track your data usage. You'll still receive alerts at 90% and 100% of your allowance. To re-add an alert at 75%, visit vzw.com/usagealerts"

So basically you removed the alert that gave me fair warning I used too much data, but kept in place the ones that told me I owe you an extra $15/gig. Thanks *******s...

Thats one thing i like about sprint i can use 50+ gb a month and they wont say anything.

I'm on ATT and have the 75% and 90% notices. Got the 90 the day before the month ended and about 8 am of the new month got notified that I had used all the data for the month already. Called them and they couldn't explain it...

Their only real mission is to shake you down for as much as is possible....all of them....it's all about getting your money away from you. Anything else is smoke and mirrior bullsh1t.

Enjoying my unlimited data plan on a competitor for half the monthly price of VZ.

Sounds like you need to install the Verizon app on your phone. You can check your data balances at any time, along with knowing how much time you have left in your billing cycle.

Verizon is one of the manifestations of the devil on earth.

I never heard such a thing but my hygienist said her cable company is starting to set tiers for home internet usage. They have to buy certain limits and pay for overages.

Why do people still have plans that charge for overages? Are they super cheap?

A friend of mine would consistantly hit the 100GB mark on his verizon account (he had unlimited data). The reason is that he'd use his network data to tether his other devices...netflix, video games, etc...he didn't have internet, and just used his cell phone as a "hot spot"

Unless something changed recently, I believe all VZN and most AT&T(save unlimited with DirecTV and a few grandfathered plans) plans are like that. It's just a level at which the overcharges start that can be bought in advance through a higher data plan.

I could be wrong, however, haven't paid that close of attention to it.

This is probably the biggest pet-peeve that I had with ATT and why I switched soon after they'd forced me of my unlimited plan. T-Mo never charges overages. Sure, the data plan becomes almost useless at edge speed when you go over your LTE limit, but you can always call in and extend it for normal price for just one month. I've done that when I was watching World Cup on my phone. Or simply use it at edge speed for a few days of email checking. They also warn you near the limit. The big guys do warn you, but there is little you can do about that unless you shut off your data.

How did ATT force you out of your unlimited plan? I fought them tooth and nail for a variety of reasons, but never did they take away my "unlimited" plan...throttling my speed, now that was a separate issue....

Had to add another line.

Edit: I used to be able to do that while keeping my unlimited, but a few years ago they finally put a stop to it.

Seriously, how in the hell do you use 50gbs of data on a phone?
Just using it for everything, pandora and google music a good 8 hours a day( driving and at work) twitter feed and all the pictures on that. Dropbox syncing photos , documents, videos, and all the work emails. Browsing, youtube, downloading sectionals and charts. I don't have TV so I have automatic updates for sports teams I follow through google now(videos articles) various chat and video apps skype, smartglass. It sounds like a lot but I have it set up to where everything is pretty much automatic.

Comcast in ATL does that. I found out after dropping cable and going to Directtv. If i stream more than a few shows a month i may run over on data. Apparently ATL is one of the few markets they do that in. Effin Iceholes.

Yup did the same, snafu in my favor ended up with free new phones (Note: tried to go back and pay but they said there was no way to do that, enjoy!)

10-4 NOW what I want to know is how you keep the damn thing charged...:D
