Anybody want to buy a nice 310?

I made an offer on a conquest today. :goofy::yes::rofl:

Haven't decided what I'm going to do with my 310 yet, but if anyone is interested send me a pm for specs.

I will post updates on the new ride as things go down.

Eggman

That's a nice upgrade! Congrats! Whatever you do, don't see a psychiatrist about this one! :)

I would appreciate you taking the time to do that write-up. I'm very actively shopping for Aztec/310's. The Aztec seems to be the best fit for my budget and mission.
Ted (iflytwins) has been an absolutely invaluable resource through every step of this for me and I'm extremely grateful for all the time he has taken helping me:yes:.
yes I did use this post as an excuse to tell everyone how awesome Ted is:rofl:

Obviously another life ruined by Ted. :)

James, that is a great looking airplane. Have you named it yet? May I suggest "Speed Bird 1"...:D Congrats!!!

Although the name is available since the retirement of Concorde, you might have to apply to BA for trademark or copyright release :D

Just an aside, I happened to be flying business on BA from North America to the Middle East and transiting through Heathrow Terminal 4 on the day Concorde marked its final flights out of there. The biz class lounge at T4 used to overlook the Concorde gates, and it was a beehive of activity that day. Sad affair as it marked the first time in human history that we have retired a mode of commercial transport and NOT replaced it with something faster. Nice to see Eggman isn't prepared to follow that example

Well I haven't seen a posting from MotoFlier with a picture of his new twin yet...so maybe there's still time to save his soul (and his wallet)?

I'm now thinking of robbing a bank....thank you Ted. :D

All I do is help you decide to get a twin. I don't help anyone figure out how to pay for it, so that's all on you buddy. ;)

Give Ted a break... All he's doing is spreading his love for Twins...:D It's not his fault so many take the bait...

I've been described as a very pleasant crack dealer by some on this board. ;)

I thought all BA flights used the Speedbird call sign?

I believe they do. 777 coming into ATL always used that call sign.

The Speedbird logo was designed originally for Imperial Airways, the predecessor for BOAC which in turn become today's British Airways - the Brits rarely let go of tradition, and like many things from Blighty it has endured as the ICAO reference for its international flights. :D

Ted had suggested "Speed Bird 1" for Eggman's new wings, and I was merely noting that specific designation (with the "1") used to be reserved for the BA Concordes (until they were taken out of service)

A nice corporate-looking turbine twin. Fortunate the person who has the need and finances for something so capable. For a personal run-around get-into-and-out-of-anywhere plane way over gross if necessary, you had my favorite.

Who cares about need? Being able to afford it is plenty enough reason. ;)

Who cares about affording their airplane? Need is sufficient rationalization...besides skipping breakfast and lunch every day to pay for fuel helps me lose weight. :D

Heh. Technically that's just a way to afford it. Selling organs is also. ;)

Hmmm...I was thinking about skipping supper too (or maybe go on an all egg diet), as I covet...er, need...the 310 that is the subject of this thread.

I have heard of selling one's soul, but selling organs seems less costly in a theological sense. Helps improve remaining payload as a bonus.

Buyer? Relocation to a broker? I haven't seen it listed yet. (waiting!)

I haven't finished my checkout in the conquest yet and my pilot wasn't available so I got to give the 310 a little TLC. I will get it listed, but am going to do it right. I've got a list of stuff I want addressed first and am having proper photos taken. The romantic in me wants to keep it, but I know I that I won't be able to maintain a level of proficiency that will keep me safe.

By "proper photos" do you just mean ones that aren't the typical blurry cell phone photos or are there actually people who specialize in taking photos of planes for sale?

Proof you weren't a twin pilot during child birth years.

Nothing quite like the wonderful (but unexpected) "You do realize there's more than one in there, right?"

Laurie says it's because I refuse to fly a single. :D

June 2002, August 2004, July 2006, August 2008, and May 2010. We were blessed.

So, that would indicate that your anniversary is in the early winter!

Or...

That you subscribe to the dogma expressed in my all time favorite poem:

When the weather's hot and sticky,
that's no time to dip your dickey.

But when the frost is on the punkin'
Now...
that's the time for dickey dunkin'.

Well done!! Getting the "Minister of Finance" to approve the capital appropriation is always the difficult step in my household. ;)
We'll be looking forward to description and pics.

You two need to start a real Air Force to move all those enlisted personnel around.

Well.... All signed off and taking my first solo trip tomorrow. My mentor pilot and another CFI put me through a 'mock checkride' on Friday and Saturday. Approaches, failures, OEI, etc. Things happen so fast. Tower at FSD asked us to keep our speeds up on an approach and we hit the outer marker at 200kts, bounced off at DH, and back up at 2000 fpm into a non-published hold. When I got through that bit of fun it was hand flying back for a final approach at home base with a circle to land at 600 ft minimums. Felt pretty good about it, but was shot when I got home.

Trip tomorrow is 506 miles and planning says it will take 1:45 at FL250 with a 47 kt tailwind and about 900 lbs of Jet-A. Yippee!

Yep, a '58.

Wish I was that competent at identifying executive jets. Most look the same to me. :D

Just keep telling yourself you're having fun! We'll be looking forward to hearing about the solo trip. Well done!

Oh, it has all been fun. It has been a fair amount of work, but most of the credit goes to just flying a bunch in the system. And Ted.
