This is the closest thing to food I have today. Need lunch.

It's hotter than hell. As I'm sitting here at the office for scheduled after-hours mx, I'm hungry and it's still the only thing I have available right now :(

Know the feeling. Yesterday was the 13 hour death march of recovering a server outage. Lunch consisted of some nasty sweet bun from the vending machine, a Coke Zero, and about a hundred gallons of coffee until hitting the all night McDs at 01:30.

Hope you get to some real food soon.

My sleep tracking app is ALL ****y this week. It says I rank below most of the free world in sleep this week. ;) Yay. Low score wins, right? Ha.

5AM and still trucking. Late night McD will still be in order if I have the energy.

Well at least they serve breakfast all day nowadays. ;)

Hope y'all survived it.

I'm always amazed more IT folks don't die falling asleep at the wheel after one of these stupid death marches and the companies who don't know how to hire three shifts for a 24/7 on call job, don't have their asses sued out from under them.

But we're all good little puritanical workers here. Nobody minds. Really. Not at all. Nope. :)

Oh man, got out at 6am and had to be up at 8am to haul my brother's broken down truck across town. That hour and a half of sleep was pretty awesome, though. Should have been done well before midnight, but ran in to some issues with our checkpoint firewalls that took forever to resolve (and I still think the vendor was useless). First it was a NAT issue, then a couple of IPSEC (ultimately simple) and BGP (some kind of cluster issue and other oddities) issues.

We have 24 hour coverage for lower tiers of support in the office (24x7 ops), but nobody after hours that is capable or qualified of doing the real work.

I hate Keurig coffee.
I have one. I tried to like it. I pretended to like it even.

I don't like it.

I had a nice Bunn brewer. I loved it. My wife got rid of it because she doesn't drink as much coffee as I do, and she is home more than I am.

I don't think the K machine gets the water hot enough, and I don't think the water spends enough time in the grounds to extract flavor from them.

The thought came up because I thought, well, I'll just post a picture of the cup of coffee I'm drinking, and I decided that the Keurig cup I was sipping on did not deserve to be on this thread.

I wish I could get Burger King to make burgers for breakfast. Carl's makes them pretty early.

AeroPress way better than Keurig, and less fiddly than a pourover.

I was looking at those too. I used to press coffee, but I kept breaking the presses when I would clean them. I love the sturdy design of the AeroPress stuff.

Good recommendation.

If my wife ever "got rid of" my coffee maker, she'd be sitting on the curb next to the trash can on trash day too. LOL.

Eh, I agreed at the time. That was when the Keurigs first came out.

I just live in regret.

I sent our Keurig away with her to her office and put a real coffee maker back in at home. She says all her co-workers like it there.

Oh. Same thing happened to you then at one point, -ish?

I was actually the one who wanted the Keurig back then. After a while it became obvious that the coffee was horrible from it and I told her she could have it for work (she does tea) or it was headed to the landfill along with all those k-cups it uses. Ha. She decided she'd take it to work.

We recently got a Keurig for our office a few months ago. Lazy bastards won't make pots of coffee anymore.

But, I have to admit. I use it myself.

All those K-cups make me feel like the worst polluting non-green consumer on the planet.

I have heard of this. Does it really taste like Dr. Pepper? If so, yuck. Other than that possibility, looks good.

David

No, not at all. In fact it imparts no taste whatsoever, so if you want it seasoned, you have to do that separately. The acids in the soda make the pork extra tender.

I suspect it would work and taste the same if you used Coke or Pepsi.

Easy. Just take the 10 all the way to the 5 (or the 101) in LA, go North, cut over to the 580 to Oakland, and you're there.
So, do that for me and then take I-10 East to Houston and I'll see you soon. I'll take everything they have! ;-)

Ribs. From a hole in the wall BBQ place. Half rack. And of course....

Cole slaw.

Oh my. Pulled pork and ribs fell victim to the image loss. I guess I'll have to get me some more ribs then.

Somehow, I think I contributed to this coleslaw thing, but I could never find the thread so I lay awake at night wondering. That and argyle socks.
