Ron Paul's Message

Will buying the book they are selling prevent this disaster?

Carefully scripted, the fellow asking the questions is a shill. Ron wants you to buy his book as only he knows "what's really going on. " He's a broken record.

It's is an infomercial. However, I do agree with some of the premise.

Lest we forget Another financial genius Allan Greenspan, an acolyte of Ayn rand , who finally had to apologize before congress , after 2007, that he was wrong. He stated before this that we did not need to regulate Wall Street as it would police itself! Indeed!

Disclaimer: I'm a pretty big fan of the Pauls.... Ron tends to go off the deep end at times though even I have to admit it.

IDK... we've been borrowing and playing shell games since the late 70s or so to cover up the fact growth in the US hasn't been very good since our post WWII boost ran out. Things aren't right, I think more and more people are feeling it and getting angry. I'm not sure what the answer is, how it will happen, or when, but I think most of us who pay attention to this stuff have been sitting back thinking it can't just keep on going on forever. Will it be tomorrow or 20 years from now? No clue but I think it will eventually happen if nothing major happens to change things.

Personally, I don't bet on a major economic/societal collapse... but I like to keep myself in position where I won't be SOL if it does happen. We're soon to be debt free with most of our assets in farmland so all we absolutely have to afford is a power bill and food. Food wise my wife likes to raise chickens, I like to garden... not for prepping purposes we just like doing it and having the fresh food. But... if SHTF it's there. I've got wild game on my property and lots of firewood... probably should get a hand saw at some point seeing as how in an epic disaster there may not be any gas for a chainsaw. I also want to get some solar panels and a windmill up sometime.... supplement my power bill if everything is fine, keep the lights on for the apocalypse. Can't go wrong there.

I keep money invested in various things too... but I can afford to lose it all and still be ok. I don't think it's ever wise to put all your eggs in one basket and hope it keeps going well.

Ron has always made more sense than not to me. And it doesn't take a genius to understand that Quantitative Easing (printing money) will eventually come to a disastrous end. And when it happens, it will be worse than the depression.

Why is this political thread not in SZ?

IDK but something is broken and I'm not able to join the SZ.... I posted in the SZ sticky and I think my post is still the last one in there.

Years later still can't get in.

This.....

Things are broken and I for one don't know if we can rely on either party to help get us on the right track.

:(

Always been a big fan of Ron Paul, his son on the other hand is just like the rest of them, flip flopping like a fish, saying whatever to get what he wants.

People get the government they deserve, and after the drooling masses opted not to put Ron Paul in office, frankly it really says a lot, or rather little about the people of this country.

I don't think most voters listen to complex arguments or consider whether their position is wrong. I think they just vote based on the memes they see in their facebook friend feed.

Ron Paul just annihilated all the other candidates in every single debate yet he's too "cooky" because he doesn't want to keep going down the same failed roads over and over. Yet we all talk about how bad things are and how we need a change.

I don't get it.

As long as the populist voter can be bought with a cheap phone, the problems of this county will continue to grow.

Until the voters will quit bitc-hin about what the congress won't do, and quit sending the same old critters back to their seats, nothing will change.

I am really surprised and dismayed that a third party has not been able to gain wide support as both the Dems and GOP suck major dick. Even though Rand is technically GOP, I plan on voting for him in the primary as he is more Libertarian than GOP. Still he is not a perfect alternative.

I too would like to see him win the election, but wonder if any one can make the change necessary to save this country from defaulting on its debt and ending up in total anarchy.
And that is what will happen when the welfare checks stop.

As you have stated, there is no conservative party, they can't be and stay in office. Both the Democrats and republicans are left of center parties, Simply because if they were to be true conservatives they would never get elected.

A broken record may play the correct message over and over and over.

Convert to Islam cause they have the only strong community left. Strong communities survive.

But in this case the message is wrong and once again......you are wrong.

I'm wrong thinking that a broken record can play the correct message?

Or are you reading into that post more than was written?

Yeah, let's convert to a religious dictator.

Oh I forgot we did that 6 years ago.

The only thing left is going to be the tough love that comes after the federal gov't goes under because it can't pay all the salaries for all the useless, worthless, idiotic, federal employees, that contribute nothing but fresh debt to the country by their work product.

There are many voices warning about the economic time bombs we have doubled, tripled and quadrupled down on especially the last six years.

Only a fool or the ignorant would deny this.

Well, you've just described most of the country.

What's frightening is that I know quite a few highly educated liberals who are absolutely, resolutely convinced that national debt does not matter, because our monetary system is all a theoretical construct.

All I can say is: I sure as hell hope they're right.

Yeah, let's convert to a religious dictator.

Oh I forgot we did that 6 years ago.

That's funny, I remember Bush pushing "faith-based" initiatives when he got elected. It sounded an awful lot like an "establishment of religion."

It used to be the Republicans who were pushing that idea.

Really? In my 56 years, I can't remember a single Republican saying "The National Debt doesn't matter." Just the opposite, in fact.

Which doesn't mean they actually believe that, of course. Actions speak far louder than words, and the GOP's record on the deficit and debt is shameful.

Reason #2,343 that I jumped to the Libertarian Party in 2012.

Can any one here tell me where the twenty trillion is owed?

Treasury notes/bills or what ever you like to call them, who holds them?

Why would that matter? Whether you default on Aunt Bessie, or Ho Chi Minh, it's going to be ugly.

I like the folks who say that Social Security is just fine, cuz that money has been lent to the federal government -- as if that makes it okay.

It will be more than ugly.

If you have a 401k type retirement, or a union pension fund you hold the "T" bills. Default on "T" bils bankrupt the american people.

Think that will be ugly? Ugly is where it starts.

When I last checked the actually largest holder of our debt is Japan with China at a very close second.

Just wait till Janet Yellen / The Federal Reserve... raises interest rates...

This country will sink faster then the Titanic...:sad::sad::sad:

Once again proving that there a **** - ton of RINOs out there.

It's hard to find politicians of either party who actually do anything about reducing deficits, as opposed to giving lip service to it.

Yep. 50 million Americans wake up to worthless 401ks they've put into for decades?

I'll just say to use your imagination what would come next.
Feels like some horrible Sci Fi alternate reality, I can't believe we are
on this path now, and I just can't see how anything can be solved in time
given the idiocy of the American people to keep kicking the can down the road.

Wouldn't want to lose an election right?
Don't want to kill the candyman. Everyone loves free candy.
Hell just be for a tiny percentage of deficit reduction and your the baby killing granny murdering devil.

Ron knows that at almost 200 bucks a copy for 280 pages he can't lose! he and " Rand" would have been better off staying in the eye repair business.

Rand was the eye doctor. Ron was a gynecologist. He got elected because at the time he was one of two docs in the ONLY obstetrics practice in his county. When it came time to vote, he'd had his hands up inside nearly every woman in the county, or delivered their baby. They knew him and liked him.

President Clinton was for deficit reduction, and the deficit was actually eliminated during his administration, yet he had high approval ratings even in the face of impeachment.
