Some of us are going to try to go to I22 FOR BREAKFAST. No idea if it will work out or not

I won't make breakfast at I22 today, but where do yo eat?

I might try for I74 for lunch, but that depends on getting my appointment out of here in time, AND the weather.

Be careful big fly in there today

The Detroit area is IMC with cloud covers lower than our comfort zone... Next time we hope to be able to make it again.

A pity, but I got some stick time in yesterday and beat the rain in by about a minute.

Made a run to Urbana and back last evening dodging the storms

I would like to meet up with you guys I rent outta Kdlz, sucks I have to work every Saturday theres a meeting.

On Father's Day (6/21/2015) is Pancake Breakfast at our home base in Mettetal Airport (1D2). Oliver and I will be there to help. If you have no plans for next Sunday, this might be a nice destination for you. You can hone your short field take off and landing skills and quite likely your cross-wind landing skills also - all in one... :goofy:

Pancakes will be served from 7 am to 11 am. There are plane rides available too... :D:wink2::lol: More information can be found here: http://www.plymouthmich.org/events/Annual-Fathers-Day-Pancake-Breakfast_ET603.html

Airport information is available here: http://skyvector.com/airport/1D2/Canton-Plymouth-Mettetal-Airport

Probably heading to 6Y9 next weekend.

I am running sound at church next Sunday but may be up to goingg somewhere on Saturday.

I will be at 6Y9 over the 4th, feel free to come up.

Sorry, EdFred, but 6Y9 is too far for us for a day trip...

We plan to fly to Kelleys Island (89D) on Saturday and we will arrive their at around 11 am. The plan is to have lunch in the village and afterwards to explore the island.

Hope to see you soon!
Martina & Oliver

Put-in bay is a lot more fun...well, at least for Oliver it would be!:goofy:

Well, Kelleys Island is cool too...just not the Mardi Gras of the north! ;)

Kelleys is a cool place to go exploring, provided you have a way to get around. Unless things have changed, I don't think there are golf carts available at the airport. I always brought my bike.

IIRC no carts at the Airport. I thi k you can call for a taxi though. Wonder if there are any Iberian drivers on the island

Thank you for the advice! We plan on bringing either our folding bikes (preferred) or our scooters to get around. We used our scooters on Put-In-Bay and they are OK for getting around.

In case someone plans to fly somewhere else, we are open to change our destination plans. We would prefer in the 1.5 hours range from Detroit though...

Let me see what the weekend brings weather wise. There is an airport in Salem Ohio I have been wanting to get to. Was thinking of flying to Norfolk to see my son but not sure if weather will cooperate with that either.

Watch out Norwalk airport might be closed for the Nhra race....plus all the banner planes. I'd go to Kelleys island but I'm flying to south bend for the motocross races

I've been there once, if you're talking about the one with the restaurant - 38D. I could be talked into making that trip Tim...wx looking good.

Maybe. I told my son I might try to meet him in Norfolk. Wx isn't looking that great on his end but I could probably file. Lets talk to morrow and decide. I am taking J to Columbus IN for brunch tomorrow if the crud burns off.

I was going to suggest 38D for a future fly in. They had a nice resturant that closed last year.
It has re-opened and hope they get enough support to make a go of it.
We are running out of options for a quick burger run in this area.

I can't make it this Saturday 7/4 - but would like to see a future meet up there.

I was thinking a 1000 departure from MGY which would put me at 38D around 1130 lcl. Are we sure the restaurant is open? What was Critter refering to regarding the Norwalk airport?

Greg, never heard back from you, I am heading to the airport and will fly, just not sure where. If your planning on 38D let me know.
