Same with lung nodules, most of them are benign. You mentioned that your aorta hasn't grown, this implies that you had prior imaging. If you did have a prior CT scan of the chest, the first step is to pull that study and to have it compared to the current one.

Tony - do you own your house? If so, file for Homesteading. IIRC (and you need to contact a lawyer) your primary residence cannot be taken due to bankruptcy action.

We own nothing but two small airplanes and a 28 year old car. I am trying to sell those airplanes. I might have to give them away for almost nothing to get rid of them.

An update:

Last thing they did was my chest x-ray for my lung. A week goes by and I call the doctor. The nurse tells me that the results have not come in yet. But some results have come in from other test. She says all looks fine in those test except my thyroid. The thyroid we will keep an eye on. She tells me to call back by the end of next week if I hear nothing.

I start calling a couple days ago and leave a message with the nurse to call me back. She does but I am gone and the wife missed the call by a few mins. So she " my wife" calls the nurse right back. The nurse ask just what is it that I want. She already told me my result. My wife says we are waiting for the results from the chest x-ray. the nurse says she has no idea what she is talking about we did no chest x-ray.

I come home and the wife tells me this. I call the nurse. Again I had to leave a message. I told her that I indeed had a chest x-ray and am waiting for the results and a letter is going out to the doctor about this.

Maybe twenty mins later the phone rings. Its the nurse. This has been the same nurse each time. Pam is her name. Anyway she tells me she has no idea what I want. I say again I had a chest x-ray and want my results, and also tell her I am having chest pains. She asks me if I have a cardiologist? I wanted to scream. What in the hell do you mean, I have a couple and you should know this. But I said nothing for I was in shock. How could this lady not know this?

She said the doctor said my chest x-ray is fine. I asked about the cloudy lung and she said she has no idea what I am talking about.

Are these people this inept or is there something else going on here. I saw the x-ray. My left lung had a big white spot on it. Then to act like I never even had the x-ray or that nothing is wrong, then say oh the doctor signed off on that. What the hell.

I will make another appointment with this doctor to discuss this but it will take maybe two months to get in that is how booked she is.

Now I have heard it all. Been through it all and am sick and tired of it all.

I'd rather get info on test results from the doc, not a nurse. Didn't anyone schedule a follow-up appointment to do that? Even a booked up doc can take the time to make a phone call.

No they did not. I am calling monday and requesting to have the doctor call me. Not the nurse.

Its been three weeks now and I know nothing. But to have this nurse tell me the doctor signed off on this and nothing is wrong, well I saw that x-ray with my own eye's. Something was up. One side did not look like the other. I have never in years past had an x-ray with anything cloudy in it and this was a big area. Half the lung.

Maybe its nothing but I doubt a cloudy x-ray is nothing, but what do I know. When I saw that cloudy x-ray I thought, great now what, and this is the second x-ray this has shown up on.

A cloudy spot on an x-ray could be a normal x-ray? I never claim to know anything about x-rays. I do know I have never seen a cloudy spot on one of my x-rays in years past.
 
You are a pilot. You fly open cockpit.

The abnormality may be a technical glitch, not a medical one.
 
Yeah, could be motion artifact. Leave it to the pros. Interpreting X-rays isn't a DIY project for amateurs. I hope it's all OK.
 
The doctor told me she see's something on the x-ray on my lung and wanted to do another x-ray and some blood work. When I called the first time this nurse Pam told me it looks like she was seeing pneumonia in my lung. Then when we speak with her a couple weeks later she says she has no idea what we are talking about when we mentioned this. She acted like she never even saw that first x-ray. It was like she was talking to someone else and not me.

I hope its nothing myself. But to tell me she never saw this cloud in any x-ray just floored me. I am not the one who brought this up. I am not the one who said we need another x-ray. The doctor told me this as did this nurse Pam, she was the first one to mention to me she see's a cloud over my lung. I just happened to look at the second x-ray. I never did see the first.

When I called if she would have said that she saw the cloud but its nothing, I would have never questioned it. But when she said she had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned the cloud , that raised questions for me. What do you mean you have no idea? You mentioned I had a cloud over my lung. Now you say you have no idea what I am talking about. She said nothing, just that the doctor signed off on this x-ray.

Here we go again. I am about tired of this crap. I will go see this doctor or have her call me, but I am loosing all hope that anything will be done to help me. My back is still killing me, my thyroid is messed up, My aorta is swollen and they are watching it. Then they say something is up with a lung, then blow it off. At least explain it to me.

Maybe I am asking to much. But this is getting so very old. I thought we were on the right track, now I wonder.

Stop letting the nurse interpret the xray. If the doc is too busy, ask for a copy of whatever report the doc wrote up.

I told the wife that things are changing. From this date on I want a copy of my records for every doctors visit. I want a copy of all files be it x-rays or doctor files. I am contacting the hospitals and all doctors I have seen since moving back here 12 years ago. I want all files records films whatever they have I want it or a copy of it.

I have had enough of this crap.

The nurse shouldn't be offering diagnoses in the first place. If she did, it doesn't count as medical advice. She was just having a conversation and offering a personal opinion, but not a medical opinion. She probably realized this and is trying to downplay her mistake for speaking out of turn.

I'm not a doctor but I often see the docs gathered around an xray oohing and aahing about something that looks perfectly normal to me, or I will see something that looks really strange and ask the doc and they will say it is just soft tissue, or air or fat or poop (in the intestines) or something completely normal that I thought was a huge tumor. Even our associate docs are often stumped and call my wife (who is an expert) and she sets them straight on artifacts and anomalys.

If you have doubts about the "doctors" opinion of your xray, you have every right to ask for a second opinion from a radiologist. But don't try to argue about what the nurse told you. Just ignore that.

When we saw the doctor the doctor said something was up with my lung. This is why we did another set of x-rays. All I know one lung did not look like the other. One side was all cloudy. All most covered the complete lung.

I am calling and talking with the doctor and getting all records, films and recordings. I am sure if I don't ask for it they will not give it. I want every file or record on me they have.

Sure you weren't looking at the shadow of your heart on the chest x-ray? Why didn't you ask at the time?
 
You are correct in assuming that the doctor will not give you your records unless you ask. In fact, you will need to go there and sign a release of records. They will not give it to you if you call and ask over the phone.

There may be a charge for putting it all on CD or printing to paper.
