It's that time again Great Lakers.

By the way: Oliver and I will be at Linden Airpark (9G2) next Saturday (6/6/2015) at around 10 am and then for quite a while, if weather permits - and it looks like it. :) There is a Fly-In, car show, and pancake breakfast. In case you are ready for some exercise, you can do a 5K run or 1K walk... :D

Here is the link to the event: http://wingseastmi.org/index.html

Greg, hope your lady will be back to duty fast!

How long do they have the pancakes? Is there a lunch?

Hello Tim,

How long do they have the pancakes? Is there a lunch?

Sorry, but I don't know. Al they say, on their website, as well as on Social Flight, is that the Pancake breakfast starts at 7am and that their will be an Airport Open House from 8am until 4pm.
Car show judging ends at 12pm.

I would be very surprised, if our fellow Americans wouldn't serve a variety of energy-rich foods and beverages, other than pancakes, but then again I don't really know. :wink2:

I was thinking of running up but the ceilings look like they are going to be low. Also the airport is Notamed closed from 2300 to 0300. WE would be long gone before that but wonder why closed that late. Is this for the walk/run?

Tim, I would also guess that it will be closed because of the walk/run.

The weather indeed seems to be worse that initially forecast: Scattered 2500ft in the Detroit area. These might actually be ideal conditions for Martina to carefully put her IFR ticket to practice... :D

FNT shows SCT025 tomorrow morning

The restaurant at muncie (MIE) is not too bad but the one at Columbus is a bit better. We are about halfway between and hit them both on occasion.

Is JXN the plan for 6/13?

Yes. The plan is JXN at 1600z on 6/13. That way I can basically pack my plane, bring the pup, and head straight to the meet up with family.

Thanks Ed. I am going to try and make this one.

I think I'll drive in. JXN is only a few minutes from my current residence.

I wanted to go to the pancake breakfast with my son last weekend or before and completely forgot about it. He will love seeing the planes.

Thought I was finally going to be able to make another one of these work and then got an email today to the contrary. Hope you guys have a great time!

Greg, where are you based?

Tim,

I'm over at Bolton, TZR. But I've been spending all my time down in south central Ohio working on the plane. Saturday appears to be out for me, as I'll still have to reinstall the interior at a minimum.

I may have a couple friends flying up as well. One in a Mooney and the other in the Deb I have been helping restore.

How big is the restaurant?

Seats maybe 50-60 or so.

Yeah, 50 is possible there but it would be pretty crowded. 40 is a more reasonable limit.

Well I thought I had a shot at making this one, but just heard yesterday from the shop doing my annual, there's a fuel selector problem that needs fixin'. So they might have it wrapped up by Friday, but I can't plan to leave right on the spot. So at this point I probably won't be in town until middle of next week at the earliest.

Have fun at JXN - foodwise they had a pretty good selection last time I was there - something for everyone.

I am likely out as well. I am on a trip for work and don't expect to be back until the weekend. I will catch the next one.

There is a NASCAR race at MIS this weekend, but called the FBO and they said they will still have plenty of ramp space, and if you are told to park in the grass, as them that you'd rather not, and they will put you in front of the corporate hangars if just there for lunch.

Race starts at 17:30Z (13:30 local) ... Mind the TFR.

Umm... No good deed...

There are races on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Looks like NASCAR is only Sat and Sun; some other race on Fri that does not have NASCAR in its name.

Check the schedule on the MIS website and with whomever else you need to to ensure you CYA, blah blah blah

I checked the FAA site and nothing listed yet

Haven't had to deal with them much. I guess by your response they don't.

Try ForeFlight or Skyvector, they both have sporting TFRs now, at least major league ballgames and the like. It's probably too early for NASCAR though, more likely by tomorrow night.

I think I get them on my iFly

Saturday isn't the Sprint Cup race - it's the minor league race. Shouldn't be a TFR for it. Friday is the truck series.

It's 3 miles and 3000 FT agl right
?

Ugh ... Sprint Cup, Indy Car, Champ Series - who the F knows? It's just loud cars going in a circle, messing with traffic on the ground and in the air. :mad2:

NASCAR = Non Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks.

Well that doesn't look very promising does it

Actually it makes me wish I was still in Michigan. The first flyable IMC we've had here in over 6 months came two days after I dropped my plane off for annual. The next day my currency expired... :mad2:

I need to do an IPC now before I make the trip.

I'm bailing out on the deal. Just going to head up to the cottage tonight to see family. Not much in the way of improvement with the forecast, which means it should be clear and a million tomorrow morning.
