A good friend and flight instructor in my plane, Al Benzing has been flying FIFI at bit more with the B-24 he has been flying going in for some work this year. Here's a link to a nice recent vid of her.

Scott Slocum took the vid and should be applauded for the great work.
The tour is at this link for shows, schedule, etc.

Al has been encouraging me to get rated in the squadron's planes. I've been focused on getting my Citation rating and have to work on occasion :)

Best,

Dave

If this was done in the last few days, one of the guys flying the photog plane is a friend of mine......

Cool plane. Road in it when it came to Tyler.

I live on the approach path to Runway 15 at KADS, and a few times a year I go flying out of the house because I hear those R-3350s coming my way.

FiFi is always a sight to behold.

While I know it was built for war, it still is one sexy airplane.

That's what I was wondering.

Me too.

Las week I was scrolling through old posts and I noticed it was less than 10 years between Dave's purchase of the P-Baron and purchase of the KA. Man, do I love a success story. Well done, Dave!

That's what I was wondering. I never got to even see the KA and now we don't go to KADS any more. :(

Ummm wasn't that you in Denver last year with a friend? Sure looked and sounded like you :)

I'm headed back to Denver to ski early March if you'd like to re-live the experience.

You outgrowing the KA already Dave?

I've not really out grown it. Wonderful bird. Had a friend recommend I fly a Citation II to see if it worked better on the long trips I take to east coast and Madison. Flew the II and was able to dry lease a V. Went through initial ground and am now flying to get ready for a check ride which will also be an ATP, but business, weather and availability of contract pilots has drawn it out a bit. Still, I'm not in a hurry, so, just trying to schedule a couple more fine tuning flights, then the check ride. Don't know where I'll go from there. May just use a Citation at times. Looking to lease, not purchase at this time and keep the KA. Lots of great memories in the KA, Gaston's is one where someone uhhhhh put their finger up a tube near the rear door, got a funny look on their face and asked if it might be the relief tube :)

Hard to believe, isn't it. The entity on the P-Baron was JDSS05; so, 10 years this summer. Sold that to Tim Doreen who I keep touch with. He's now resold it to someone on the west coast and is looking for a 421. Three years in the KA now and over 450 hours logged plus sim time. Just over 20 hour in the Citation now.

Let us know! That's right I completely forgot I had seen the KA at KAPA.
