So, let's do a little reverse chronology to frame the story....

3:15 am

Woke up in the middle of the night. I wake up a lot in the middle of the night. I don't normally sleep well, plus I need to drink water and pee and stuff like that. But I slept solidly since... maybe, 7:30, 8:00 pm? Nine maybe? What did I have for dinner? Sometimes, I just completely black out and lose a block of time where I can't remember what I ate for dinner. I don't know if it's just exhaustion, or maybe the alcohol, maybe dinner just plain sucked, or maybe a combination of the three. Dunno. Except this time I DID remember what I ate for dinner. There was no dinner. I remember that.

7:30 pm previous night (or eight, or nine, I can't remember exactly)

Get home, walk in the door, nobody here. Must be at some event or something. I wonder if there is anything for dinner. Don't see anything. Nothing on the table. There is a pot with some kind of sauce in it, not sure what it's for. Maybe I'll call to find out if there will be dinner later, or if I'm on my own for it. Riiiiiiinnnnnngggggg. No answer. Oh well, at this stage of the game I think it's fair to assume I'm on my own for dinner, so, I guess I'll make a run to McD's or Burger King or Carl's for a burger and a salad or some **** like that. Get out of my work clothes, and change in to my gym clothes. I usually change in to my gym clothes when I get home (tank top and shorts), pack my work clothes in to the gym bag for the next day, and just wear my gym clothes to bed so I'm ready to head out to the gym in the morning. Except I don't have to work the next morning. That bed sure looks comfortable... maybe I'll just lie down in it for a few minutes......

Yeah.

5:30 pm

It's Friday! Yay! Damn that shot of Jameson went down easy! Gimmie another. I'm sure starved right now. I mean I ate lunch, but it was Chinese Dim Sum. Kind of like a Chinese version of sushi, in that you really have to eat a hell of a lot of it to get filled up. Little plates of tiny little things that don't really fill you up much. If you are a taster, you like Dim Sum. If you are an eater, you want a big assed steak or a bucket of KFC, or a massive double cheeseburger with bacon and pastrami on it. It's like little dumpling things with shrimp and pork in them. A little bit more on the carbs than I would like, but rice wrappings are okay once in a while. The chicken feet were worthless, just like artichokes. No meat on them at all. Just bone and skin. Why they like them so much I have no idea. A big huge plate of chicken strips sounds really good right now. But.... I don't want to double dinner it. That would be a bad call. I won't be burning off 2,800 calories on the bike tomorrow, so I better hold out.

11:30 am

Sac: "So let's go out to lunch for your review. You get to pick the spot."

Employee: "Ooh, ooh, can we do Dim Sum?"

Sac: "Yeah sure."

Fast forward to later on this morning......

"I see you called last night. I was in the middle of an event."

"Oh, yeah, I was just calling to find out if I was on my own for dinner last night, that's all. I figured it out though."

"Dinner was on the stove, didn't you see it?"

"No."

"Yeah I made soup for dinner last night."

"Oh." (so that's what that was.....at least that mystery is solved.)

I mean it's not like I'm anti soup or anything, but, as a meal? Especially for dinner? WTF? There was like nothing in it, it was just some sort of creamy sauce looking thing. I assumed it was going to be poured over something or something like that. It never even remotely occurred to me that the main meal would be soup. I can see soup as part of a meal, although I'm really not much of a soup person myself so I would normally pass on soup anyway. I mean I've had soups before that I liked, but you needed to eat them with a knife and fork. Vietnamese pho soup is good, I like that. But soup soup? Nah, I'll leave it.

Just venting. There, I feel better.

I love soup.

I make my veggie-beef soup so thick you could walk across a bowl of it without getting your feet wet. A bowl is a full meal.

Okay. I'm confused. Who made the soup?

Ps. I hate soup too.
