A day at the New England Air Museum

I finally visited my brother and his apartment up in Connecticut for the first time with my father and his friend yesterday. We had lunch and drove around Bradley International Airport, and we stumbled upon the New England Air Museum.

We saw all kinds of airplanes both military and civilian. There were even flight simulators and for a small price, there are flight sims (the ones with 3 computer monitors and PC flight controls) that are better than the ones in the kiosk. Even though the sims are popular with the kids, I just had to go on them!

I even saw an EAA table in the museum and was handed a pamphlet from them.

Had a good time.

If you liked the museum,you should go on open cockpit days. The museum is always a good take. There is a ramp fee at the fbo closest to the museum.

I believe it was open cockpit day at the museum when I went there yesterday. I was inside a DC-3 cockpit.

I've been wanting to go here for a while now. A trip there is definatly on my to do list for this summer. I'm pretty sure I'm going to fly in and enjoy myself!

For those who appreciate the history of piston engine development, this museum has one of the most significant and unique collections anywhere. Definitely worth a look if you're in the neighborhood.

I went there 2 years ago, but don't remember any sims on display.
I also wonder if they might have gotten some from the Cessna school at Brainard? (but that was years ago when they used them there -- HFD was still Class E then)
