OK, ladies and gents,

I have been tasked by the Great and Powerful Tim Winters to set up a meet up at Ricks boathouse, KEYE, Eagle Creek Airport, Indiana. It seems the best way to do this is to try for Saturday and allow Sunday to be the alternate date for weather.

We will leave the time fluid but should try to be there by 1100 to 1200 local time.

As we get closer and I have an idea how many might be attending I will contact Ricks and beg for tables.

Subscribe to this post so you get the updates as they happen,

Tim

Sorry, will be in Colorado for the ski season. Ricks is a fine choice for a meeting, though.

Cheers

Huh. Is it that time of month again?

I think I'm busy on the 18th but I'm not sure about the weekend. Keeping an eye on the thread.

Oh, sure, blame it on me!

I guess I'll try to be there...if I have to. :yesnod:

I was thinking of trying to revive the GL meetups, so thanks for putting this out there. I'm definitely going to plan for it. It helps that that weekend is a long one, thanks to the MLK holiday.

Hoping that the winter weather relents and gives us a chance.

I just may have to spring for this one!!

Great response so far, Two Tims and two Matts, Eagle Creek may never be the same.

May or may not be pulling the boat to Florida by that date. If not I will keep it in mind.

It wouldn't be complete without an Ed though.

So are you gonna make the trip?

J and I gave you mom and dad a full tin of bucyeyes, be interesting to see if they make it back to MI or not.

I would love to go, but I take off for the Middle East on the 15th, I don't return until the 30th. Otherwise I'd definitely be in.

It will be weather dependent, and with that big ice maker to the west, who knows. Could be sunny, could be OVC002.

What are the chances of a Great Lakes meet up on a Thursday or Friday?

The colors were quite by chance. I almost bought a Yellow and Blue Arrow. Ohio would have probably revoked my instate Visa.

Feel free to set one up, I work M thru F so that doesn't work for me but it may work for others.

However Ed, Brad, Diz, Ryan, Liz, and Liz to name a few would still be laughing at me.

Eek, middle of January. I'll say unlikely but one never does know. Subscribed to thread. I can probably know better on the 16th :) Unless someone wants to offer a girl a ride.

It is always a crap shoot that time of year. Took two weekends to find a flyable day last January

Will have to make do with one Liz. I'm out for that weekend.

But, glad to see this resurrected. Must. Fly. More.

I keep hearing you folks up at Ray when I'm flying at Lorain OH (we share CTAF). I need to visit :)

If you need a ride just holler! :)

I think I have secured transportation. My instructor/friend has me penciled in to help me get there. Yeah yeah my husband is IR as well but he's not current. (ha ha) :)

Well, if the Great and Powerful Tim Winters suggested this I guess that I'll have to "pencil in" to go again!
I'm sure that Tim will slay the January Ice Witch and he'll provide tail winds both ways for everyone! :yesnod:

By the way - it's a great place to have lunch overlooking the marina and reservoir.

I think we'll be able to make that... Hooray! :)

And I've been wanting to go to Eagle Creek for quite a while, just needed an excuse!

Sounds like a great start, we just need the weather to cooperate

Hi,

as my wife and I just recently relocated to Northville, MI, we would like to take the opportunity and also join the fly in. :)

Cheers,

Oliver

Come on down, subscribe to the thread and I will be taking a head count as we get closer to the date and the weather picture is s bit clearer.

Well, it's iffy. "If"s are:
If my arm is out of the cast by then and functional.
If the weather holds up.
If there's a capable plane available to take me, Leslie, AND an instructor (haven't flown since May!)
If there's an instructor available who will spend the day with us.
If I have renewed my renter's insurance by then.

That said, I'd love to!

I was questioned about the "cast" reference.

I posted it on FaceBook, but I didn't mention it on PoA (though I did call Bruce, of course :)). I ruptured my non-dominant bicep tendon mid-December and had surgery the Thursday before Christmas. In and out of the hospital in 4.5 hours. Arm is in a brace/cast, Seeing surgeon tomorrow AM, but expect another 2 weeks of "wing" immobility. Of course, that puts it right before the planned get-together, so I will have no time to go up with an instructor to get current beforehand.

Is it as bad as it sounds? How the heck does one rupture a bicep tendon? Working out too much again? :D Glad you are getting better!

David

According to Facebook: Being macho, I decided yesterday to take the lawnmower downstairs to the basement without assistance.
