The AOPA Summit App is now available in the Apple App Store and Android Store. Hope you enjoy the show.

Thanks for link...

For folks monitoring this thread.... I am going to research a place near the convention hall for a Friday or Saturday lunch so that we can have a chance to meet if you cannot attend the hangar event Troy is coordinating.

I can't make the hangar event Saturday night.

I'll be at the PilotMall.com booth handing out free stuff all week. Come say hi and get some freebies!

Looks like I will be arriving Sat am and leaving Sunday late afternoon. Hope to see a few of you guys there....let me know where we meet for lunch.

A few years ago a bunch of us met up at Sun N Fun at the aopa tent but less than 1/3 showed up and once we got away from the tent it was impossible to identify people we have never met before. So it might be a good idea to swap cell phones. Anyone interested in that, please send me your cell phone by PM and I will text my cell phone back to your cell.

If we miss the mass meet up we can always pass in the corridors.

CHANGE OF VENUE...

Due to the small attendance, there's no need to set up and do a big hangar party 40 miles away. We'll be at the Hard Eight BBQ in Roanoke, TX. Same time (Saturday night, 6pm-9pm). If you need WHEELS/RIDE, please PM me with your contact information (cell phone) and how many folks are with you. If you can drive (empty seats in a vehicle), do the same... your name, number and how many you can take. I'll coordinate stuff Friday night.

This is the same Hard Eight that you always hear us DFW people talk about flying down to Stephenville for--just a newer metro location about 20 miles/30 minutes north of the convention center.

Heading over to the Flying Saucer for the Arron Tippin concert now...

I'll be there for that.

Greatest BBQ in the world. Look forward to meeting some of the crew.

I'd like to start a thread to track who from this board is coming to AOPA Summit.

Sorta like the Gaston's, AirVenture, and 6Y9 threads, something to keep track of who to expect.

Additional desire is to know who I need to go find to meet in person and see if we can arrange some gatherings at a local watering hole or eatery.

So if you're a definite or a maybe, post here and as we get closer, we can see if we can make some more definite plans.

Date: October 10 - 12, 2013

It's amazing to me that the ADDRESS / LOCATION / VENUE isn't clearly stated on their site!

http://m.aopa.org/summit/

I'm assuming it is at the convention center, but I just spent twenty minutes going through links on their site without success in locating the address.

There is more to share about their pre-event process, but I will share that later, after the event.

Saw John and Martha King today. Saw Rod Machado also. Drank beer with John Pontz at the Omni Hotelt bar Wednesday night. Never have I been in the presence of such greatness.

Day one done for me. Attended Mike Busch's morning seminar, then the Avionics Planning by Thomas Haines, then the "Flying with the iPad". All really good stuff.

I got a short amount of time on the trade show floor. It's a lot to take in. Already took advantage of a 20% discount offer with Jepp on one of their products. I mentioned to a friend how much there was here. He laughed and said I ain't seen nothing until I attend AirVenture.

Don't forget I am arranging a lunch on Saturday. Click this link for information. I ate there today and the food is good. And it's close to the convention hall

Mike, sorry I missed you. I was up at Exhibitor Registration. I had 12 volunteers and they only wanted to give out 5 passes even though Pilots N Paws paid extra to get us all in. When I mentioned I was going to call our VP and get her to forward the confirmation to me, she decided to give us 10 (5 additional). It worked since 2 volunteers from Austin called and cancelled due to their weather.
We will be in the booth tomorrow 12-2pm and again on Saturday 9-12 & 2-4.

Mike Reddick

Saw Rod Machado on in-flight emergencies, John Yodice on a FAR review (and completed the ground portion of a FR), and Dr. Janet Lapp on keeping the brain fit. Went to a dinner and concert by Arron Tippin. And it's good, but a pale shadow of AirVenture!

I also ran into a bunch of friends and acquaintances from all over. That's what it's all about. Just got back from working out in the hotel's fitness center.

Had a great time at the Hard Eight with Troy, Teresa and the girls, as well as Tony and his granddaughter! Then enjoyed the Four Day Weekend improv and the Scat Jazz Lounge! Had a great time in Ft. Worth!

That's called "doing it right." You got the complete experience! Love Scat Jazz! Down a narrow brick alley to a neon lit elevator door, push the button down to the basement, it's like a time machine in the alley.

Or a TARDIS!

I got to go to,the iPad seminars, I was having a right day with a bad headache and being nauseous.
I got quite a bit out of the iPad seminars.
Saw rod doing a presentation.
Asked Foreflight a couple questions and left, Thursday.

I almost missed this as I had not read the thread before leaving for DFW.

Thanks for putting me in touch with Troy, I followed him up there from FW.

Sorry we missed you.

I'll be there for that.
