A HUGE "Thank you!" to Bruce Chien, for helping my husband get his medical back. Words can not adequately express my gratitude. Tom will once again be able to do what he loves, and that is teaching people to fly. Tom has a lot of students eager to either get back to flying, or to start flying lessons.

Bruce also helped another local pilot get his medical a few weeks ago.

Bruce, thank you for helping soooooo many pilots...your expertise and dedication (and patience...one day I'll figure out how to make those files smaller. :D) are greatly appreciated.

Is that the guy in the overalls? He doesn't look old enough to be an instructor. Is this a trick?

He helped a friend of mine her is Houston area. Bruce certainly is a wizard of help and I appreciate him helping my friend.
I took him up the day after he got his paper and he was beaming like a Cheshire cat, priceless!

Thanks Bruce

Dr. Bruce has done a lot for aviation and aviators (as have Diana and Tom). Thanks to all of you! We need more like you.

He is the best.

Really glad to hear this Diana, great news!

Yes, Dr. Bruce helps make it possible for many of us to keep flying........I am one of that group. Thanks again Dr. B.

Mike...the plant guy

Once again, Bruce made it happen. Tom is back to giving flight instruction. He is one happy man. Thank you, Bruce. :)

Each of us will have our day for whence we stop. This was not Tom's day :)

The amazing thing was the application was denied, short order by a non physician. No MD review. When this was pointed out, an appeals examiner went, "youch".

I am seeing more of this recently. They are under duress with the loss of the boss (who took voluntary demotion so he could work from home), the deputy, who went to DC, and the lead who devised "CACI" also went to Washington. Generally dark days right now....

There are several students right now who are also happy about this. Some of them quit training when Tom self-grounded, and some went elsewhere but weren't happy there. He's back to being busy in the air. :)

Thank you for making our days brighter. :)

Bruce really helped me too when I was getting my first medical as a student... And several times since then. Thanks Bruce!

Dr. Bruce helped me get my last two medicals in his office, even though I had 'issues'.

Bruce, I'm giving you my no-motorcycle crash promise for the next year or so.

(note: I usually keep my promises)

Dr. Bruce helped me with, what I'm sure was an unusual case, two years ago. I can't believe it's been two years!

Add me to the list - he called the FAA twice (while I was sitting in the office!) to clear up some confusion. I don't know any AME in the Denver area that would do that. Well, I do know one, but he retired from being an AME 5 years ago. Definitely worth the trip to Peoria.

Too bad one has to suck up to get help.....flame on cyberbullies! :yikes:
Closer and closer to not needing this crap any more. Keep your fingers crossed!

Mine isn't as dramatic as others, but if you have a very complicated surgical history, he's the guy to get your documentation in a row.. Probably just the guy in general. Kinda like the A Team in a way. If you can find him.. If no one else can help... Maybe you can hire him...

Hm....I wasn't under the impression that giving a positive recommendation was sucking up.

If by suck up you mean send an inquiry via PM or email with an honest assessment of your current situation, then yes, that is what it takes to get help. That, and a check for less than $200, usually.

So that is why I send my wife to Bruce. Twice a year. To suck up everything he can offer. And he offers a lot. And I mean, A LOT! I have seen it.

Sometimes I take her, and I'll sit outside, looking at the closed door, where he services her. Waiting to see her emerge with a satisfied face. That makes me happy.

Merry Christmas!

First time I ever heard being honest and following instructions as sucking up.

+1,000

Seriously. Seeking advice from a skilled and experienced professional.

Cloning is one way to end the pilot shortage! I've always wanted to name a plane of mine "Slave I."

:wink2:

Contrary to the way science fiction has misled people, cloning would not result in a fully grown individual with all of the skills and experience of the original person. It would result in a newborn baby, who would need to be nurtured for a couple of decades, trained as a pilot, and provided with at least 1500 hours of flight experience, all at the usual expense. And that's assuming that the clone would even be interested in aviation.

Yes, but you could assume they would also have the same passion for aviation. The same way the clones on Kamino were not born with all of Jango Fett's abilities and were trained on the planet.

I don't think twins necessarily have all the same passions. Genes are only part of what influences a person's interests.

You realize this bill only has a 25% chance of passing, right? I hope you stay healthy all your life. God forbid you need someone who understands the bureaucracy. But you have google. So, don't worry.

Sheesh.
