Sonex quick build kits

Nice, very many people seem to be happy with their Sonex!
 
Ok, my bad. Right at the top says $10000 cost for the quick build upgrade. :wink2:

Sonex seems to be a little tight but have some interest if they go electric.

Makes me wish Aero-Vee would sell a 100hp engine, that'd give Rotax a run for their money! :D

Eh, the owner of the Viking Engine has a sketchy past, TBH I'd put in a ULPower engine before I put in a Viking Engine.

I like how people buying a Viking try and compare it to a Rotax 912s. However, the engine in the Viking comes out of a wrecked car with around 30k miles on it. The engine is NOT new. :no: Also, you just don't hear about performance numbers compared to a Rotax equipped plane and a Viking engine in the same airframe. It seems to be a well guarded secrete. :rolleyes:

Not enough power to drag my disgusting hulk around New Mexico altitudes while using stubby wings of Sonex. Also, it has to rev high to meet the rated power, which limits choice of propellers and shortens the lifespan of the engine (on Rotax, in contrast, you must keep RPMs up at 5000 and above to extend the life of the engine, oh the irony).

It's an awesome engine for Florida though and the cost advantages are quite real as I heard.
