Great Lakes/Midwest February Lunch

I reserved a plane and handled logistics. Need to make sure I'm current and hope the weather is wimp proof :)
 
Ed: Tomorrow, when the weather is good- Greencastle, IN makes the most sense if Marty, Gene, and Ralph want to stop there on the way home....its on a line to Kettering, OH, just about...

or heck, just come to Peoria 3MY. We'll be here from about 9:30 to 11:00AM and then I can drive to lunch....

I'm busy on the gulf coast and can't be bothered to think about cold weather destinations.

I will call the restaurants this week at 4I7 and 05C and make sure they are open and make the decision.

No. they're coming from Armstrong. But from Peoria, it's about the same line. I mean you guys are what, 60 miles apart?

3rd weekend of the month.

I'm in a condo in Gulf Shores, AL listening to and watching the waves crash on the beach with Orion high above me hunting a wild bull.

We just got dumped on again and it's going down to -13C tonight. They closed the university today so I got to shovel in front of my hangar.

Of course some people are getting hit a LOT worse... New England especially. :(

Cleaned out the driveway, left about 1pm, got above the clouds at 8000 and saw ground speeds up to 180kts and stopped in Shelbyville, TN for a stretch and $4.74 fuel. Then another 2hrs back up at 8000 and landed a little after sundown. Enjoy the cold. I will be jogging on the beach in the morning.
 
Hastily shoveled two tracks in my driveway Friday at 5:00 am and beat a hasty retreat to CAVU & 65* in Hilton Head... Counting on Sunday's rain to take care of the rest of the snow before I get home. :D

Ironic, considering half of Florida is people from the north. But I'm not in Florida.
 
CAVU here today too... after my hike (which I had to do alone, no one showed up, probably because of the snow), I filed and hopped off to KAZO. Bravo makes a good pizza -- thin crust Tuscan style, and exquisitely seasoned.

Duncan plugged in my Reiff heater for me, and I bought 10 gallons of their overpriced fuel. But their service is really good, so it was worth it.

Crap. Love that restaurant, but can't make it for lunch that day. Have fun! And be sure to ask "What's cooking" - I've never ordered off the menu there. Carnitas Fajitas were my favorite so far...

As long as I'm healthy and the plane's healthy, I'll try to make it, Mother Nature permitting.
 
Ok I may have done a bad thing here. Matt (Flyingmoose) and I are in a new start up Aero Club at our local KMGY. We have only had two meetings but have had 13 to each of those meetings. I invited the group to come to 05C for lunch. I will let you know if any of them decide to show.

Nope, I don't do the FB thing. The witness protection unit in charge of my current relocation does not approve of me using FB.
 
I'll probably sound like a Luddite here, but as far as I'm concerned FB and suchlike "social media" are all viruses. I keep getting "invitations" on Linked In from people I've only corresponded with maybe once or twice, updates on FB from people I've never heard of, etc. I wish I could delete my account. :mad:

Not really - They "close" your account but they just put it into hibernation and spam you with all the things your friends are doing and don't you want to come back now? We have your account waiting for you... :rolleyes:
