This embraer pilot got out of his seat (or was it an airbus?) and insisted I sit down. I was shy so I hid behind my pink hood on the flight:

Yes, shy, that is you.

It looks like he will have to sign your future pink log book. Maybe open it before you hand it to him, so he isn't blinded.

I am pisces and will be turning 50. I always thought I would have a party or something for my 50th, but it looks like I will be spending it working somewhere at a remote location in PA. :nonod:

Have a great birthday and I will see you at the flyin.:D

Sigh. I'll be doing a sixty miler on the bike today.

I guess that will allow me to eat a lot of lunch.

Hi,
Saturday, February 9, 2013. HAF, unless weather prevents, in which case we may change the destination the day before. Meeting on the South ramp near the gate at 11:30. Here is the current roster:

Kimberly (plus one passenger) Cessna 150 - bright orange

John - John221us (probably solo) Cherokee 140 - White with blue trim

Craig Vincent - Doesn't know plane, yet

Sac Arrow, Arrow. Or alternately an RV10, in which case I'll have ten passengers plus a couple AIM9 missiles mounted on the wing. I'll perform an overhead break.

Eric - Cessna 150L, white with red, gray and blue accents. Possibly one passenger

Nick, maybe

Sacbluesman - Mine will be a wht/blue C152 or C172

Aviatingfool - If you see a Long EZ there, say hello!

Onwards - I will be coming in my club's 172, tail number 1407U

Jason - Maybe

Richard - Palmpilot - I plan to be in a rented Cutlass, N6410V

John - Clear_Prop - Not sure if he is flying or driving

Nick - Goldennixter - It looks like I should be able to come with a friend, white with blue cessna 172 N5347H probably.

I have contact info for:
Kimberly
Sac Arrow
Sacbluesman
Onwards
Aeric
Palmpilot
Craigvince
Goldennixter

Let me know if I missed anyone. Also, if you PM me your cell number, I will PM you mine.

Anybody flying today? I might be up for a lunch run, somewhere.

John, if you didn't make it today, neither did I, a couple of us are going up to Willows tomorrow for lunch with the Placerville EAA group.

I don't really have an RV 10 available as an alternate. I'm just carrying along with the RV 10 jokes.

We all know RV 10's can out carry a 777, outperform an F15 and out-endure Ron Jeremy!

you can change me from maybe to yes I'm in the white and red Comacnche

My medical came in the mail today so hopefully I can book a plane for next weekend and not have to drive in.

Hello everyone. I just joined today. I will be attending with my fiancé who is also a pilot. Our plane is a 172M white with blue stripes, N80236. Please add Jen and Mal to the list. Thanks :)

You seem to know much more about everything than I do. BUT....I go to KHAF a couple times a month and WE have had to land with a cross wind from the right rear quarter on several occasions as was the case during the Mavericks Sunday. Several commented on the radio about why we were using 30 when the winds were 060 at 7. But hey, what do I know, maybe it was my imagination :dunno:
Since that isn't the point of this thread how about we drop it and not hijack the thread with this?

We too experienced the same exact tailwind conditions when we flew in for mavericks. 30 was the active, and with all of the traffic we did not dare to land in the opposite direction. It was no big deal and our landing was safe.

Welcome aboard! I am looking forward to meeting you guys on Saturday.

I'll be at a monthly meeting at a flying club I belong to and I'll see if anyone is interested. Hopefully the southeast parking area is big enough! (It is :wink2: )

They have a fair amount of parking. I guess if it is a nice day, it could be busy. I have never seen it full, though.

Hi Jen! Glad you made it :wink2:

Sorry I've been sick from work - it started on Sunday night and I'm back now but still a bit of a lingering cold.

I'm not going to post on Meetup after all because we have so much interest here and Eric already mentioned that he is telling others which is beyond our "list" / way of contacting people.

Here is how to find us on the ramp:

Bright Orange Cessna 150 with (possibly) a rubber chicken next to it or attached to it

Here is how to find us if you're running late and catch us once we're already at the restaurant:

I will have a sign or two (depending on how many tables we take up) that simply says "POA" or "Pilots Of America" on it. I will also try to remember to bring this runway and airplane for a centerpiece so you can find us:

I just called the restaurant and they said to me yes, if I feel confident we will have 10 or 20 or so that I should call them the morning of (they open each morning at 11am).

I explained that I can't do that since I will be pilot of an airplane but I could gladly call them around 8pm the night before when they are closing.

Please let us / me know on Friday night after we all check the weather how many of you feel confident you are going.

This is not a reservation, but rather a courtesy to the restaurant. They told me they have plenty of room.

I won't know which plane I'll be flying until a couple days before, but I'm planning to be there.

Craig, we'll be bringing a radio to listen to CTAF after we land, so let me know your tail number and what kind of plane / what color when you know. John and I have been making lists.

Either use this thread or PM me.

Kimberly

I think I might John. Looks like one needs to detour south a bit to get around SF Class B without getting into San Jose airspace. SJ can get really ****y for some reason.

I want to see that RV with the missiles.....

I go to KHAF to eat at Mezza Luna and many don't know it well so want to go to other restaurants for burgers or deep fried fish.....

If you see a Long EZ there, say hello!

If you do stop by Saturday it will be good to see you. It has been a long time since I saw your Long EZ.

I only asked a few people and so far only one possible, I have his tail number to listen for.
On a positive note, once a rather weak system moves through Thursday and early Friday, there should be nice but cool weather for the weekend.
