I like it, but I am not used to having that information. I previously had just an EGT. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. It gives me more to worry about and I am watching it too much in climb, because I am still breaking in a new cylinder.
 
Are your CHT's hanging in there at acceptable temps or are they running high?

Two POA gentlemen were with me most of the day yesterday installing the JPI 700. Looking forward to seeing it operate.

The new cylinder is a little high, especially in climb, still. It settles down in cruise, though, as long as I pull it back a little bit (around 2400). It only has 7 or 8 hours on it, though. I keep my speed up on climb, to help a little.
 
Here is one of my favorites from 2012... we were flying east of Las Vegas at 11,500' IIRC when this guy passed below us. And this is not zoomed in very much, they were pretty close! We were on flight following, but he wasn't called out to us, so by the time I spotted him, I had to rush to grab the camera, turn it on, and get the shot in a hurry before the opportunity was lost.

Omaha would have been much easier. At least I know where it is!

The only thing I knew about Ixtapa when I woke up that morning a couple days ago was that it was somewhere in Mexico. Fltplan.com is useful...

Went up to Rickenbacker yesterday and found this cool heli. This thing was a beast!!

I have used (hired) the Erickson folks to set a lot of HVAC equipment for me over the years. They are great for cleaning a parking lot up. Sadly they make more money fighting fires than lifting equipment so I don't think they even perform the rigs anymore. The guy I worked with was based somewhere in Columbus.
 
Tim- They were in at LCK when I seen them. The tags on the trucks were from Oregon, but I just assumed they were here doing some work. Really neat to see. I would like to see them use it.
 
I have lots of pictures of a rig they did for me at Sycamore High School in 2002. I think I also took video but I have no idea where it might be.

We use copters all the time for rooftop units and fans, and quite often in you backyard. If you like I can let you know the next time we use one. Won't be the sky crane though.

This is a pic of Maid in the Shade taken from one of the other B-25's when they were lined up for take off for the fly over at the Doolittle Raid Reunion in Dayton a year or two ago.

Have you ever landed out there? Is there anything to do once there aside from the beach?

Interessting you should ask. I planned on landing there during this flight but the winds were a direct crosswind at about 10 knots with the occasional gust- not in my bag of tricks yet. Flew up to Groton an landed there instead to get the XC time. While around Montauk, I over flew the airport and it is really walking distance to a few restaurants and the beech is literally right at both ends of the runway. I totally want to go there in the spring/ summer but the guys at desk where I rent from who have their PPL for longer than I say that you really want to go on a calm day. I could see why because it looks like the dunes on either side of the runway probably don't take to kindly to wing tips.

I'd be down for that. There is supposed to be a crab shack right at Montauk during the summer months, might be nice to check out- I'm probably going to go there this Spring or Summer for sure.

By the way, I have a very similar picture I took while flying on my long solo XC as a student pilot up to Windham IJD. That area is so pretty from up above.

Have a good and safe flight to Brookhaven tomorrow, although I'm partial to Islip, I'll be the first to welcome you to Long Island.:D

No, it is not the runway width that causes a problem. The dunes cause turbulence when a crosswind is present. So your wing tips are a lot more likely to hit the runway than the dunes. -Skip
