Any $12 kneeboard and $3 worth of Velcro will do the trick nicely. Or just a legstrap with some Velcro on it would be fine. I slapped a square of Velcro on the back of my original Nexus and used it both on a yoke mount and suction window mount. I could put it anywhere I wanted! The unit is so light it doesn't take much.

Get a kneeboard from CV the makers of anywhere map - this one:

get a ram mount like this one:

Put the ram mount on the kneeboard.

Re: Nexus 7 Kneeboard

Are you sure you want a kneeboard? That puts a small screen quite a ways from your eyes. I have found that a suction mount on the windshield or side window to work much better. It puts the screen right under my nose and leaves my kneeboard available for copying clearances, frequencies, etc.

Re: Nexus 7 Kneeboard

I will second the motion for NOT using a kneeboard with a Nexus 7 -- or any 7" tablet.

The point of the 7" tablet in the cockpit is that it's small enough to mount anywhere. Here's a picture of ours, in the back hole of the -8A:

And here's one in our old Pathfinder:

Re: Nexus 7 Kneeboard

Since we have a little thread drift anyway, I'll also argue against yoke mounting. It blocks too much. In that Pathfinder shot I think it is blocking both the MP gauge and the tach. On the window a small tablet blocks almost nothing.

True, you do have to look around it a bit when it's yoke mounted. But as compared to a 10" tablet, it's terrific.

Re: Nexus 7 Kneeboard

I guess I am just used to a kneeboard and the velcro thing is probably the way. I have a KLN-94 certifed GPS and a Garman 396 (Hardwired) in the new airplane so just want it for charts and a distant backup. Just not big on attaching things to a control...although it seems to not be an issue.

The N7 is very light, and won't interfere with your yoke at all.

I just hate looking down at my lap in turbulence.

Re: Nexus 7 Kneeboard

I merely use the clip on my kneeboard to hold it in place. The clip is rubber coated, and the screen can stand the pressure.
