Can Hydrocodone cause nightmares?

I won't be taking any more of them, but wow, the vivid dreams and nightmares sure make a person feel tired the next day. Has anyone else had this problem with Hydrocodone?

I call them "adventure dreams" and I'm never sure if I'm tired from getting no sleep or from running from those guys all night. Or chasing them.

Re: Can Hydrocodone cause nightmares?

I like to stay away from that stuff. My wife has been taking it for her back pain and she doesn't mention nightmares short of having to lie next to me all night.

BTW, how is the shoulder doing? Been doing your pendulums and wall walking?

I've never even had so much of a dream with hydrocodone.

Never had nightmares while on the Hydro.

Other side effect, yes, but not that one.

Hope you're doing better, Diana.

Yep, been doing those and the boat-rowing one, too. PT will be three times a week for four weeks, to start with. Hopefully we'll be done by then.

Thanks, Kevin. It's hard reading about everyone else out having fun right now. Although, I'd be happy with a good night's sleep at this point.

I had foot surgery in May and I had three days of nightmares when I stopped taking it. Weird stuff!

Diana,

Same thing happened to me. Vivid, psychedelic, and intense.

Yep, that's how they were. One was a bizarre dream that would have made a good/bad science fiction movie with aliens from outer space, and the next night there was weird voodoo stuff going on...they both were violent and very real and weren't going to have a happy ending unless I woke up first.

It was time for a mental health day (I've been crabby...poor Tom), so Tom took me flying and I rode in back and we got the courtesy car at Pittsburg and went out to eat. I flew home from the front seat with him as my safety pilot in back. I'm not crabby anymore, even if I hurt more now from getting in and out of the airplane.

Glad you got some lift under your wings. That's always therapeutic!

Nightmares are listed as a rare but possible side effect for hydrocodone.

Can I buy the movie rights? We could film it at your farm.

Do you have a blue aura?

When I woke up from the nightmare, the night air was still and damp. The window was open and the only sounds for miles around were hundreds of crickets intermingled with the chorus of frogs in the pond across the road and the sounds of pears occasionally dropping to the ground from the orchard outside the window. It was almost eerie.

Yes, I do.

And it wasn't pears... it was footsteps. ;-)

Thanks a bunch! Actually, possums walking through the leaves in the dark of night sound like what one would suspect that people creeping around through the leaves in the dark of night would sound like. Reminds me of a story of three women in the hot tub, but....never mind.

It sure is nice to have a spouse who is a pilot, too.

No more nightmares, so I think it was either the hydrocodone or some other effect from the surgery.
