Aerobatic Contest - Wilson, NC
IAC 19 is hosting our spring contest in Wilson, NC (W03) May 18-19. Anyone in the area with an interest in aerobatics or getting into competition is welcome come hang out, watch, volunteer, heckle, or whatever. If so, check NOTAMs. Aerobatic box starts on RWY 3/21 and extends to the west. There will be right traffic for RWY 3 and left traffic for 21 in order to keep landing traffic out of the box. Make normal calls on the CTAF. We'll advise if needed.

What kind of volunteer opportunities available? I'll at least come hang out.

Re: Aerobatic Contest - Wilson, NC
We can always use boundary judges (can train you in a few minutes) and recorders (write down scores on the score sheets). Recording is a good way to watch the flights and see how the judges are seeing and scoring it. Can also use folks to drive the boundary judges out to the box corners.

Re: Aerobatic Contest - Wilson, NC
Whiff,
I might come down there to see my instructor and company fly. That's probably on Friday. I'm nowhere near ready to compete (shooting for Sept.), but I think it'd be good experience to take it all in. Cheers, Paul |
