Pre-takeoff checklist
Washington State DOT operates a number of grass strips up in the Cascade Mountains. These runways are typically closed by NOTAM from October 1st until June 1st. This year, spring was dryer and warmer than usual, so many of these airports were opened early. Skykomish State was one of the lucky ones. So, 5 pilots flying a variety of hardware took a trip to Skykomish before the crazy busy skies of Memorial Day weekend showed up. It was a great day!
