Although I do appreciate the ridiculousness of this deposition on both sides, I would add that the actual term "photocopier" hasn't been used in any office I've been in for decades. I would generally call it a "copier". "Xerox" is probably overall an effectively obsolete term as well but newer than the generic "photocopier". I can easily see how a younger employee would question what the lawyer meant by "photocopier" if he's never heard that term - "what, it copies photos?". The lawyer could have saved about 7 minutes of his life by just giving other well-known example words to describe it. You know, like "Xerox", "copier", "all-in-one printer", "mimeograph" (hah!), etc.
