Piper wing spar eddy current testing

It's very important that the person removing the bolts really knows what they are doing. Early in the AD compliance process, there were many stories of bolts being pounded out with brass drifts or just hammered out. The bolt hole needs to be carefully cleaned to avoid a false positive.

If [BLANK] is what you find too expensive about flying...

Piper alternator belt. It's $147 from Spruce. Exact same belt at O'Reilly Auto Parts is $39. There's a Piper sticker on the Gates bag. Can still see the Gates Part number.

Mystic seaport, KGON or KWST. Stay at ocean house in Watch Hill (nice but $$$$). Then go to KRKD and visit Camden. Easy hike up Mt. Battie.

Rates are kind of irrelevant. Look a % of total taxes paid by income group. Taxes by income From the link: "In all, the top 1 percent of taxpayers accounted for more income taxes paid than the bottom 90 percent combined. The top 1 percent of taxpayers paid more than $1 trillion in income taxes...

    172/Cherokee gotchas

Entry into a Cherokee if disabled could be a challenge. Might want to try before getting too far down the road.

    Northern lights and flying

Aurora itself doesn’t cause any problems. The solar flares that generate aurora can. Some GPS approaches can be downgraded to LNAV. There’s a map online somewhere that shows areas likely to be affected.

Road Bump in Buying a Plane - No Place to Put It

Paulding is a nice airport. I did a lot of pattern work there when working on my PP at RYY.

Flight Plan Filed -- Told to Expect Different Route

@SoCal 182 Driver Given the time on the west coast, it may be a bit early for the pilots with specific experience to chime in. If you're looking for experience in the system, I'd go with your IFR plan and try to amend it in the air. SOCAL is very complex and I suspect the routings are spit out...

Flight Plan Filed -- Told to Expect Different Route

A VFR flight plan is not visible to a controller. So not really "in the system".

Flight Plan Filed -- Told to Expect Different Route

@SoCal 182 Driver Might help to post what you filed and what you received as an amended route. Assuming you're in SOCAL based on your username, there's likely some pilots that can explain what's up.

    Base leg altitude

Join us in FL in the land of puppy mill pilots practicing for their 747 jobs in a 172. At non-towered airports, I could pretty much do a power off 180 and be on the crosswind in the time it takes for "Echo Romeo" pilots to get from abeam the numbers to short final.

    Nav-o-matic 300 autopilot

If you're selling, even pretty far in the future, I'd be tempted to do nothing. If you want to have a functioning AP, then I'd get something more up to date. You will not recover your investment in a new AP, so only do it if you plan on using it.

Bonanza crash in residential area, Augusta, GA

Yes and then there's option 2 which is to do nothing (at least for Cherokees, Mooneys and Bonanzas). Actually, not nothing, more just keep flying the plane and land if it's bothersome.

    Garmin FlightStream 510 questions

FS210 won't do DB updates, only move flight plans and adsb data. 510 has wifi which allows the bandwidth to move that much data.

    Headset Evaluation

As a student, not sure why the need for bluetooth. If I were you, I'd get a used Bose or Lightspeed ANR headset. Used can be a decent discount to new and can likely be re-sold at a later date for similar $$. After you have some significant hours you'll have a better idea of what you need. For...
