    Nashville BBQ

@2-Bit Speed and @SkyChaser have high standards, though. There’s a gas station near their home in S Ga that has terrific bbq.

    Nashville BBQ

I thought Dickey’s ribs were decent (not great, but not bad), but that’s all I ever tried there. AggieMike and some of the other Dallas POAers introduced me to Hard 8 on one of my Dallas trips and it was pretty good. I had a good sampling.

    Nashville BBQ

He and @SkyChaser were changing planes tonight in the Nashville airport. At the moment they should be airborne en route to Dallas. I assume they grabbed airport bbq, which might not be the best sample, though I used to find pretty fair bbq at DFW.

That's a different, and less savory, code, but it's still a code. Codes are derived from a society's idea of ethics, and not all ethics are the same.

Taking a deeper dive into maneuvering speed

When I saw the word "dive" in the thread title I thought we were going to be discussing this point (which is much lower than Va):

Any tips to better familiarize direction, degrees & headings?

Stop trying to do arithmetic in your head or trying to form mental pictures. Just visualize it using what's already in your cockpit. Does your plane have a directional gyro? Just look at the DG and see where the wind is and then observe which runway heading is closest to the wind. For...

I still have my sash. E. Urner Goodman, who founded OA, retired to FL and was a member of our lodge. Neat, neat guy. He autographed my Brotherhood sash. OA, the original WWW. ;)

    The death of an insitution

Yeah, I'm afraid that's true. The local community is all but gone. We've lost more than we realize as a result. In my neighborhood, many of the parents had grown up knowing each other, had gone to the same schools, went to the same churches, some of the dads worked together and carpooled...

Wait until you meet Rancid Crabtree and The Troll. Always enjoyed McManus’ stuff. A few of his books are within arm’s reach right now, in fact.
