    Hilltop Lakes, Tx.....

Anyone have any knowledge about or know someone at Hilltop Lakes, Tx? Looking to maybe buy a couple of lots on the airport and put up a hangar and apartment there. I've been priced out the DFW area for a couple of years now and retirement is getting close enough that we need to start making...

    New email provider?

Looking for a new email provider. Verizon dumped us a couple of years ago to AOL. AOL recently did something and now Thunderbird can't seem to be configured to where I can send email. I have to log into AOL direct to do so. Also, the AOl email client is so crippled, I can't cut and paste into...

The warbird world is a little dimmer....Connie Edwards has flown west

I consider myself both proud and lucky to have known Connie for more than 30 years. He and his son Tex can be back airborn together again, and forever now. CAVU and fuel unlimited now my friends.... https://www.npwelch.com/obituary/wilson-connell-connie-edwards-sr/

    Legend by Eric Blehm

Read this over a couple of down nights at work recently. It's the story of Roy Benavidez and the action that gave him the CMoH. The book has a bit about his growing up and his time in the Army, but is mostly centered around the mission and the action of that day. Roy simply got on a helo as a...

Cirrus on a 'chute in Addison

Cirrus on takeoff out of Addison ended up landing via chute this morning. Landed in someone's parking lot. Looks decent until you notice that the airframe is sitting on a partially crunched landing gear...

    North Star Over My Shoulder

Just starting this one by Bob Buck. Flying all sorts of aircraft from the 1920’s, all the way up to being a 747 captain. Looks to be interesting.

Going to be a long day tomorrow....

Going to be a long one. The 17 year old is going under the knife tomorrow to have his right foot rebuilt. He messed it up last year in a fall and the walking boot and physical therapy haven't been able to make enough progress. Surgery was the last option, go invasive and fix it or live with it...

    SAIB on Alodine

Heads up for anyone that uses Alodine in their shop: The FAA has issued an SAIB about a name change. http://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgSAIB.nsf/dc7bd4f27e5f107486257221005f069d/f87909d65fce4bfa8625822b005ae82a/$FILE/HQ-18-09.pdf

Snatching something a little larger than a banner...

I didn't want to hijack the banner thread, so started this one. How about snatching something a bit larger than a banner, and with something quite a bit bigger than an ag bird.

    Display color question

Is there someplace within the software that lets an individual user alter the display colors on their own system? For me, the light blues and reds are pretty washed out on my display and could use more contrast. I'd like to not have to change my monitor settings just for this website.
