If your mechanic isn’t available to do the pre buy find a shop in the local area who hasn’t worked on the airplane. After agreeing on a price,use AOPA affiliate company’s for total search and escrow. I would have my mechanic review the log books.

You know prices won’t go down.

If you get cleared direct,when you keep adjusting,the controller will probably ask you if your still flying direct.

Cut back on tasty food ,increase your exercise and become a skinny grouch.

Stuff happens,not being a regular occurrence it’s tough to blame Boeing for this one.
