This is what I did even though I learned at a class delta airport. I made up my own knee board paper in the order that I heard it on the radio. I learned a lot with that hand held radio.

For paint over spray?

I use mineral spirits in a pressurized sprayer and lots of cardboard on the floor for oil. If you are talking paint overspray then I would use a rag only and be ****ed that the engine was not covered before paint
